Renewable Power and Alternative Energy
It is now possible to provide cooling using solar and other renewable or alternative energy sources to charge batteries for DC powered air conditioners.
The DC Comm-Cool units are extremely energy efficient, operating on less than half the power requirement of an AC input system. The units, which operate on 24 or 48 volts DC, have been specifically designed for continuous reliable cooling of small houses, industrial buildings, cottages, shelters, telecommunication or utilities cabinets. For larger structures, two or more units could be used. Expensive, external generators are not required as the units operate on batteries. The units have temperature controls which enable the air conditioner to cycle on and off as required.
There are currently three DC Comm-Cool wall mount models, providing 10,000, 12,000 and 16,000 BTU/h. Standard features include:

Economiser Accessory
As with standard AC air conditioners, we offer an economiser accessory. The DC Airflow venting system is a stand-alone DC-powered unit that provides a reduction in battery drain and improves the life cycle of the air conditioner.
